Laken Riley Fought for 18 Long Minutes!
Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student at Augusta University’s College of Nursing. She had just made the Fall dean’s list, and was set to graduate next year.
On February 22, 2024, Laken went for a run on the college campus when she was attacked and killed by illegal alien Jose Ibarra who has ties to the Venezuela gang Tren d Arugua.

Casually walking with a drink cup in hand, hunting, Ibarra showed no fear of being caught. At one point, there were 9 individuals standing at the nearby UGA bus stop as he lurked in front of a first floor apartment and attempted to open its door.

7:05 a.m. approx. | Illegal alien Ibarra is seen repeatedly returning to a first-floor apartment that is occupied by a female over a span of 2 hours; attempting to open the door. The female occupant called 911 to report someone attempting to enter her apartment. | |
8:00 a.m. | Laken Riley is at home with her iPad. She took notes. Did her homework. Watched Netflix. | |
8:45 a.m. | Laken chatted with her roommate and occasional running partner, Connolly, about their weekend plans. | |
8:55 a.m. | Laken texts to her mother: “Good morning, about to go for a run if you’re free to talk.” |

9:03 a.m. | Laken then calls her mom when she didn’t hear back from her. | |
9:05 am | Laken sets off on her run. She can be seen jogging along a trail. |

9:11 a.m. | Laken places a 911 call. This call was disconnected. Emergency dispatcher calls back, but Laken does not answer. Laken is being dragged nearly 65’ off the trail and into the woods. | |
9:24 a.m. | Riley’s mother, called her back at 9:24 a.m., but there was no answer. | |
9:26 a.m. | Laken’s mother’s text to her daughter. | |
9:28 a.m. | Data from the Garmin running watch Laken was wearing recorded that her encounter with Ibarra “was long,” and “fierce.” The data showed that Laken’s heart stopped beating at 9:28 a.m. | |
9:37 a.m. | Laken’s mother texts Laken: “Call me when you can.” | |
11:36 a.m. | Laken’s roommates try texting and calling her. Two roommates take their dog to search for Laken. | |
11:37 a.m | Roommates veer off trail and proceed to search for Laken along her usual running route, and toward the Intramural Fields. | |
Sgt. Kenneth Maxwell could be heard gasping in the video footage after he finds Laken Riley. He begins performing CPR on her lifeless body. |
