Felicia Nichole Ruiz, 17, was murdered on 10-30-1999 in Houston, Texas.
Felicia was stabbed over 39 times, her jaw was broken, and throat slashed by 3 people (2 have been prosecuted and incarcerated).
In November of 1999, Jesus Gerardo Salazar was charged with murder and Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. Jesus Gerardo Salazar, an illegal alien and a documented Latin Kings gang member, is believed to be hiding out in Venezuela. Salazar escaped from Florida with help from his father, a Venezuelan executive with Pedavesa Corp (affiliate of CITGO), who chartered a plane to Florida. Salazar’s father is deceased approx. 10 years. Salazar is also believed to travel extensively to Columbia. Deputy U.S. Marshal Cameron Welch took charge of this case in 2009 and has remained in close contact with Felicia’s parents Carrie and Lou Ruiz. The Remembrance Project invited the Ruiz family to meet then-candidate Mr. Donald Trump at his rally in Beaumont, Texas, in 2015. Mr. Trump gave Mrs. Ruiz an opportunity to speak and shared that Felicia’s killer escaped to Venezuela. Mr. Trump indicated that if he was elected, he would get the killer out of Venezuela.
